The definitive guide to skiing and snow boarding on real snow with real ski lifts
in the mountains of Cumbria, Northumberland and County Durham

Castleside

Castleside is the regions lowest altitude ski slope and, not surprisingly, it has the poorest snow record. This lack of snow coupled with other organisational factors mean that the tows were last open to the general public four years ago. Castleside is not really in the same league as the other facilities in the North, but it is sometimes open to the public and it is a permanent ski tow so I have included it anyway.
