George Fisher Webcam 16th February 2003

Feb 16 2003

Sometimes it looks like there is no snow as in this picture from the George Fisher webcam.
However skiing did take place on that day up on Raise - Snowlion was there along with a couple of dozen others. The view is of the South facing slopes of Skiddaw and a few drifts can be seen at the top. The slope on Raise is North facing and steep enough never to be in direct sunlight in the winter. Drifts can remain for long periods if the cold weather holds and on this crisp winter's day it was be well below freezing up on the tops. You must listen to the snow reports to get the final word.

Obviously if you see snow down to valley level on the webcam then you are sure to get some good wintersport.
